Jellie McDonald Team

Jellie McDonald is a medium-sized rural law firm. Our offices are in Warrnambool which is a prosperous and growing regional centre situated in western Victoria.

At Jellie McDonald we pride ourselves on providing prompt and thorough legal services in a cost-efficient way. We will not complicate a client’s legal problem with unnecessary technicalities.

We like to work closely with a client’s other professional advisers such as accountants, financial advisers and bankers.

The people at our firm have overlapping areas of practice which provides a depth of experience. Depending on a particular client’s needs, more than one of our solicitors or law clerks may work on a matter.

David Jellie

David Jellie, Principal Solicitor

David was born and bred in Warrnambool and comes from an old farming family. David has continuously practised law since 1985 in Melbourne and Warrnambool. David is married with three children. David is active in a local Rotary Club. David has Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Laws degrees. He is accredited by the Law Institute of Victoria as a specialist in Business Law and Wills and Estates.

Marcus Malseed

Marcus Malseed, Principal Solicitor

Marcus grew up on a farm near Warrnambool. Marcus advises on a wide range of commercial and property transactions. He also handles litigation related to these areas. Marcus has Bachelor of Laws and Bachelor of Commerce degrees. Marcus has written the course materials for and lectured in business law at Deakin University.

Jacinta McDonald

Jacinta McDonald, Principal Solicitor

Jacinta grew up in Caramut 50 km. north of Warrnambool and received her secondary education at Monivae College in Hamilton. Jacinta studied law at Melbourne University and has practiced law in Warrnambool since being admitted to practice in 1995. Jacinta’s nonprofessional interests include travelling and spending time with her children. Jacinta has a Bachelor of Laws and practises mostly in family law.

Helen Shalders

Helen Shalders, Solicitor

Helen was a lawyer in England before moving to Australia in 2003 where she was admitted to practice in 2006. She handles a wide range of matters involving court appearances in the Children’s Court, Magistrates Court and the Federal Circuit and Family Court of Australia her main areas of practice being family law, child protection and intervention order proceedings. Helen’s personal interests are spending time with her family, travel, cooking and reading.

Mark Bolton

Mark Bolton, Solicitor

Mark Bolton is a Law Institute of Victoria Accredited Specialist in Commercial Law. Having lived and worked as a lawyer in Warrnambool, Bendigo and Horsham, Mark has over a decade of experience assisting regional businesses and individuals. Mark has a particular interest in helping multigenerational family farms, privately-owned corporate farmers and other agribusinesses with their various legal needs.

Megan Campbell

Megan Campbell, Solicitor

Megan was born in Warrnambool and studied at the Deakin University Warrnambool campus. Megan holds a Bachelor of Laws and a Bachelor of Commerce degree. Megan has been practicing law since 2019 and practices in a wide range of areas including Family Law, Property Law, Commercial Law and Wills and Estates.

Caitlin Musico

Caitlin Musico, Law Graduate

Caitlin is a Warrnambool local. She started at Jellie McDonald in 2021 for her gap year placement and has continued to work here through to the completion of her degree. She completed her Bachelor of Law through Deakin University in 2025. She looks forward to travelling and continuing her legal journey.
